Information Regarding Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and Court Operations

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California continues to closely monitor the national and local response to the coronavirus virus (COVID-19) in respect for public health concerns. We will be following guidance provided by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), available at www.cdc.gov, but at this time will be making NO CHANGES to normal court operations. If a person falls within a higher risk category or feels uneasy being present in court, we will attempt to accommodate those concerns in the appropriate manner, in the discretion of the individual judge, given the needs of the matter at issue. To seek to arrange a telephonic appearance for a non-evidentiary hearing, please refer to each judge’s webpage for specific procedures to request a telephonic appearance: https://www.casb.uscourts.gov/judges and click on the judges name for their individual page and telephonic hearing information. To seek a continuance of a hearing, please refer to the procedures contained in the local rules, LBR 9006-1(d).

Any future changes or updates will be posted on this website and communicated as appropriate.
